Daughter of the Dusk

As the light of the dusk began to fade, I found myself in the company of Makeda, a model and poet with a beauty that radiated from within. Her features were accentuated by the soft, warm light of the evening sun, and every movement she made seemed to flow like a dance, a tribute to the beauty of nature that surrounded us.

As we moved along the river bank, Makeda’s natural grace and poise seemed to blend with the environment around her, as if she were an extension of the trees and the flowing streams. The gentle breeze that rustled the leaves seemed to carry the words of her poetry, as if they were an extension of her soul. Her eyes kissed ever so softly by the evening light, and every breath she took seemed to be a tribute to the beauty of life.

From the fading light emerged a daughter of the dusk, embodying the natural beauty that surrounds us.

As I captured each image of Makeda, I felt as if I was capturing a fleeting moment of pure beauty, a moment that would never come again in quite the same way. Her natural beauty and grace seemed to merge with the soft light of the dawn, creating an almost ethereal quality that was truly breathtaking. It was as if she was a daughter of the dusk herself, a being of pure light and beauty that had been born of the natural world around us.

With the final click of the shutter, our journey through the lens reaches an end, but the memories captured will live on forever.

I am a native son of South Carolina. Born and bred in a former confederate state, I inherited my people's struggle and that battle has shaped me into an advocate and activist for the unheard and unseen. With my words and camera as my only weapon, I share with the world the beauty, uniqueness, and humanity of all those who are underrepresented. I highlight and levy praise on our triumphs, contextualize our struggles and vocalize unachieved goals. With every image I capture, I show the world, unconsidered perspectives and the unspoken truths that deserve to be heard.
