"Her Storm"

The sun was shining overhead, and the calm river flowed beside me. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a storm came upon me in the form of a woman. As she approached, the wind grew stronger, and the river raged. She was like a hurricane, a natural disaster in human form, and she was about to unleash her power.

Sometimes, it takes getting lost in the chaos to capture the beauty of life through a different lens.

Through my camera lens, I saw her curves and movements as a reflection of the beauty and destruction of a hurricane. She was the calm eye of the storm, yet her power was immense and could wreak havoc on everything in her path. Her presence was like a whirlwind, and every move she made was unpredictable and fierce.

As I tried to capture her with my camera, I felt like I was documenting a natural disaster. I wanted to freeze her in time, to capture her raw power but it could not be contained or tamed. With every click of the shutter, I felt the intensity of her storm tearing through me, leaving me lost in her chaos.

But as I looked back at the photos, I knew that I had captured something truly magical. Each frozen moment was a glimpse into her unbridled passion and intensity, something that could never be replicated.

After the storm subsided, I lay on the river bank, feeling breathless and spent, like a sailor emerging from a shipwreck. Looking at the photos, I realized that it was not I that had captured her, but she had captured me. Each photo was like a scar from a great battle, a moment of pure intensity etched into my soul forever.

As the final click of my camera echoed across the now-calm river, I lay on the banks, forever marked by her sensual storm. She had stripped me of my former self, leaving me raw and exposed, but in that moment, I knew I had found a new lens through which to see the world.

I am a native son of South Carolina. Born and bred in a former confederate state, I inherited my people's struggle and that battle has shaped me into an advocate and activist for the unheard and unseen. With my words and camera as my only weapon, I share with the world the beauty, uniqueness, and humanity of all those who are underrepresented. I highlight and levy praise on our triumphs, contextualize our struggles and vocalize unachieved goals. With every image I capture, I show the world, unconsidered perspectives and the unspoken truths that deserve to be heard.
